Liquid Mixing Tanks
Liquid Mixing Tanks
Homogeneous Mixing, Consistency in Product Quality
VOLDE liquid mixing tanks are integrated tank and mixer systems designed for the controlled, homogeneous, and repeatable processing of liquids and liquid-solid mixtures. Typically engineered for small and medium-volume applications (up to 10 m³), these are high-performance process equipment in which the tank body and mixer mechanism are designed together through engineering calculations
| The Purpose of Mixing & Engineering Approach
Mixing is not simply about combining two liquids. In many processes, the goal is to keep the product continuously in motion, prevent settling, evenly distribute solids within the liquid, and ensure that the product's properties remain consistent throughout the process. VOLDE determines the correct mixing principle for each application by taking these goals into account.
When designing a mixing tank, the process objective is defined first:
• Keeping the liquid continuously in motion within the tank
• Preventing settling and phase separation
• Distributing powder or granular products fed into the liquid without clumping
• Achieving a smooth, homogeneous mixture
• Maintaining even temperature throughout the volume for heated products
• Providing a stable environment for reaction or holding processes
Based on these goals, the mixer type, blade geometry, rotation speed, and motor power are determined. This results in solutions that are both energy-efficient and reliable from a process standpoint.
| Tank Structure & Thermal Equipment
Tank Material & Surfaces
• Stainless steel (AISI 304 / 316)
• Carbon steel
• Food-grade surfaces
• Epoxy-coated or chemical-resistant coatings
Heating & Cooling Solutions
• Jacketed tank bodies
• Internal coil applications
• Thermal insulation
• Steam, hot water, or cooling water connections
These structures keep the product temperature constant throughout the process and support mixing performance.
| Mixer Types
| Process Connections & Automation Integration
Mixing tanks are equipped to be fully compatible with the other equipment on the production line.
• Product inlet/outlet nozzles
• Dosing and feeding connections
• Sampling points
• Level measurement systems
• Weighing via load cells beneath the tank
• Temperature sensors
• PLC & SCADA integration
Mixing duration, speed settings, and recipes can be managed through the automation system.
