High Performance with Expanded Perlite

VOLDE builds turnkey facilities covering integrated dosing and blending processes together with the production of expanded perlite for perlite-based plaster formulations. In these facilities, built on proper engineering principles, low-shear conveying equipment and precision dosing systems are used to preserve the porous structure and fragility of perlite. This way, without disrupting the particle-size distribution, the targeted thermal insulation performance and mechanical strength values are consistently achieved in the final product

| Dosing and Conveying in Perlite-Based Plaster Production

The expanded perlite used in perlite-based plaster production is an extremely abrasive, low-density raw material whose structure is easily damaged. For this reason, properly selecting the dosing and conveying systems is critically important for product performance.

In perlite-based plaster dosing facilities designed with VOLDE engineering, expanded perlite is taken in as raw material and incorporated into the process in a manner that preserves its porous structure.

 • Dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems designed for abrasive perlite
 • Feeding and dosing equipment that generates low shear force and does not damage the perlite structure
 • Automatic weighing and feeding systems with ±1% dosing accuracy, depending on the recipe
 • Dust extraction systems that prevent dust generation

Thanks to this approach, the porous structure of the expanded perlite is preserved, resulting in perlite-based plaster that is extremely lightweight yet mechanically sound, delivering the same performance in every bag.

    | Addition of Additives and Blending

    The VOLDE batch dosing system fully automatically prepares recipes consisting of raw materials such as cement, calcite, micronized fillers, polymeric powder additives, chemical modifiers, and fibers.

     • Recipe-based batch dosing via silos and weighing bins
     • Big bag discharge and bag dumping stations
     • Volumetric feeders and weighing systems
     • A special low-speed, high-volume mixer structure designed to preserve the perlite's porous structure
     • Batch traceability, automatic quality-control records, and recipe management via the HMI, through PLC + SCADA integration

      The fully automatic production line offers a complete solution starting from dosing, through mixer feeding, automatic filling of 10–25 kg kraft bags, and on to robotic palletizing and stretch-wrapping systems.
