Precise and Stable Dosing for Continuous Production Lines

VOLDE continuous dosing systems are designed for processes that must run without interruption. They are based on dosing multiple raw materials at the ratios defined in the recipe using loss-in-weight feeders, and feeding them into a continuous mixer via a belt conveyor or collection screw. In these systems, not only the dosing but the entire production line is designed to operate continuously.

| System Structure and Operating Principle

Continuous dosing systems are built on a structure in which each raw material is controlled independently:

 • A separate feed bin or silo for each raw material
 • Mass flow rate control via loss-in-weight feeders
 • A common collection line (belt conveyor or screw)
 • Continuously operating mixer or process equipment

All feeders operate in synchronization, and the raw materials are continuously combined at the mixer inlet in the ratios specified by the recipe. This structure ensures that the product composition does not change over time.

    | Loss-in-Weight Feeders

    In VOLDE continuous dosing systems, dosing accuracy is ensured through feeders that operate on the loss-in-weight principle. The bin or silo on the feeder is continuously weighed with load cells, and the actual mass flow rate is calculated based on the change in weight.

    Thanks to this method:

     • Changes in material density do not affect dosing
     • Stable, repeatable feeding is achieved even at low flow rates
     • Recipe ratios are continuously maintained
     • Stable dosing is achieved even with non-flowing raw materials

    The feeder type, screw geometry, and bin structure are determined according to the raw material properties.
