Liquid Mixing Tanks
Liquid Mixing Tanks
Homogeneous Mixing. Consistent Product Quality
VOLDE Liquid Mixing Tanks are integrated tank and agitator systems engineered for the controlled, homogeneous and repeatable processing of liquids and liquid-solid mixtures. Typically designed for small to medium batch volumes of up to 10 m³, each system combines tank geometry, agitator configuration and process parameters within a single engineered solution. Agitator type, impeller geometry, speed and power are selected according to product characteristics and mixing requirements to ensure reliable mixing performance and consistent product quality.
| Purpose of Mixing
Mixing is more than simply combining two liquids. Depending on the application, the objective may be to maintain continuous product movement, prevent sedimentation or phase separation, disperse solids uniformly within the liquid phase, or maintain consistent product properties throughout the process.
VOLDE defines the appropriate mixing principle for each application based on the required process outcome. The first step in engineering a mixing tank is therefore to clearly establish the mixing objective:
• Maintaining continuous circulation throughout the tank
• Preventing sedimentation and phase separation
• Dispersing powders or granules into liquids while minimizing agglomeration
• Achieving a smooth and homogeneous mixture
• Maintaining uniform temperature throughout the tank volume during heating
• Providing stable process conditions for reaction or holding applications
Based on these requirements, the agitator type, impeller geometry, rotational speed and drive power are individually selected and engineered. This application-specific approach ensures efficient power utilization, reliable mixing performance and consistent process results.
