Post-Dosing & Final Blending

Precise Dosing. Gentle Feeding. Consistent Final Blend

Post-dosing is a critical stage in powder detergent production, where base powder from the spray-drying process — or NTD base powder in non-tower plants — is combined with enzymes, bleaching components, colored speckles and other functional additives before final blending. VOLDE develops continuous gravimetric feeding systems for this stage, combining belt, screw and vibratory Loss-in-Weight technologies according to the characteristics of each ingredient. Base powder and post-dosing components are metered at recipe-defined mass ratios and continuously delivered to the final blending line with particular attention to feeding accuracy, particle integrity and stable material flow

| Continuous Gravimetric Post-Dosing

Unlike batch dosing, the post-dosing section must maintain the required formulation continuously as the base powder moves toward the final blender. Each ingredient therefore requires a stable mass-flow rate synchronized with the main product stream.

VOLDE FEEDWELL Loss-in-Weight feeders continuously measure material consumption and adjust the feeding rate according to the active recipe. The feeder technology is selected individually for each product: screw feeders for suitable powders, vibratory feeders for sensitive materials and belt-type LIW feeders where gentle handling is particularly important.

 • Continuous Loss-in-Weight dosing
 • Recipe-based mass-flow ratio control
 • Independent feeding of multiple additives
 • Target / actual feed-rate monitoring
 • Automatic feeder refill
 • Synchronization with the base-powder flow

This allows enzymes, bleaching components and other post-dose ingredients to be added continuously in proportion to the detergent base powder entering the final blending process.

    | Belt-Type LIW Feeding for Fragile Ingredients

Some post-dosing ingredients are particularly sensitive to mechanical stress. Granular additives, colored speckles and other friable products can lose their particle structure when transported through aggressive screw geometries or high-impact feeding systems.

For these applications, VOLDE uses belt-type Loss-in-Weight feeders that combine continuous gravimetric control with a low-mechanical-impact feeding principle. The material is carried on the belt rather than forced through a screw, helping to reduce unnecessary particle breakage and fines generation.

The complete feeder and hopper are mounted on the weighing system, allowing the reduction in material weight to be continuously measured while belt speed is adjusted to maintain the required mass flow.

This makes belt-type LIW feeding particularly suitable for

     • Fragile or friable detergent additives
     • Colored detergent speckles
     • Granular post-dosing ingredients
     • Products where particle-size distribution should be maintained
     • Applications requiring gentle continuous gravimetric feeding

The same principle is used by leading gravimetric-feeding specialists for fragile and friable products because belt feeding combines gentle handling with Loss-in-Weight control.

      | Rotary Drum Mixer Feeding & Final Blending

The individually dosed ingredients are combined with the base powder before entering the Continuous Rotary Drum Mixer. The feeding system maintains the required relationship between the main powder stream and each additive while coordinating all feeders with the actual production rate.

Liquid ingredients such as perfume and non-ionic components can be introduced separately into the blending stage through dedicated dosing and spraying systems. In this way, powder and liquid additions are brought together according to the final detergent formulation.

Particular attention is given to maintaining particle-size distribution and limiting segregation as the product enters and passes through the final blending process. This is especially important when components with different particle sizes, densities and mechanical sensitivities are combined. Industry detergent processes similarly emphasize accurate formulation together with limiting attrition and segregation of the finished powder blend.

VOLDE integrates base-powder feeding, continuous additive dosing, gentle belt-type LIW feeding and rotary drum mixer supply into one post-dosing system developed around the final detergent formulation.
