| Dust-Free Pigment Discharge and Safe Raw Material Management

The color pigments used in masterbatch production are typically materials with a highly fine particle structure and high dust-generation potential. For this reason, bringing raw materials into the process in a controlled manner is critical for both product quality and worker health.

In VOLDE systems, pigments are brought into the process at separate bag dumping bins. Each discharge unit is equipped with an integrated filtration system. When the operator opens the bin lid, the filter fan automatically activates, immediately drawing any dust generated during discharge into the extraction line. When the lid is closed, automatic jet-pulse cleaning on the filter activates, and the dust on the filter surface falls back into the bin. This prevents dust from spreading into the environment and also avoids the loss of valuable pigment.

The dosing equipment located at the bin outlets is designed to suit the flow properties of the pigments. For pigments with low flowability or a tendency to bridge, special feed geometries, flow regulators, and precision dosing elements are used to ensure stable material flow.

| Recipe-Controlled Dosing and Extruder Feeding Integration

On masterbatch production lines, pigments, carrier polymer, and other additives are fed into the extruder according to defined recipe ratios. In VOLDE systems, the entire dosing process is controlled by recipe-based automation managed via SCADA or the operator panel. When the operator selects the type of masterbatch to be produced, the system automatically activates the relevant pigment and additive dosers and carries out feeding at the target ratios.

Depending on the process design, the dosed pigments and additives can be collected in intermediate bins or transferred directly to the extruder feeding system. Thanks to communication between the extruder and the automation system, feed rates are dynamically adjusted according to production capacity. At the end of each production cycle, the system generates batch reports containing the raw materials used and the production parameters. These reports provide important data for quality tracking, traceability, and process optimization.
