Volumetric Feeders

Stable and Controlled Feeding for Continuous Processes

VOLDE FEEDWELL Volumetric Feeders are developed for the controlled and repeatable feeding of powders, granules and pellets into continuous or batch processes. Material is dosed on a volumetric basis according to the geometry and rotational speed of the feeding screw. Where gravimetric mass-flow control is not required, FEEDWELL provides a simple, robust and economical feeding solution. FEEDWELL design considers not only the screw itself, but the complete material flow path from hopper to process outlet. Hopper geometry, feeding chamber, screw configuration, agitator, drive system and discharge arrangement are selected according to material characteristics and required feeding capacity. This material- and process-oriented approach supports stable material flow, repeatable feeding and reliable operation across a wide range of industrial applications.

| Volumetric Feeding Principle

In volumetric feeding, the amount of material is controlled by the volume delivered by the feeding element over a given period of time. In screw-fed systems, capacity is determined by the combined effect of screw geometry and rotational speed.

This principle is particularly effective for materials with relatively stable bulk density and consistent flow behavior. For cohesive or poor-flowing materials, agitators and flow-assist devices can be used to promote regular and uniform feeding into the screw.

 • Continuous volumetric feeding
 • Capacity adjustment through variable screw speed
 • Configurations for powders, granules and pellets
 • Wide operating range with different screw diameters and geometries
 • Agitator options for cohesive and poor-flowing materials
 • Integration with continuous mixers, extruders and batch processes

    | Material-Specific Feeding Configuration

Stable volumetric feeding depends on supplying the dosing element with a consistent and reliable material flow. FEEDWELL feeders are therefore configured according to bulk density, particle size, flowability, cohesiveness and required feeding capacity.

Standard screw geometries can be used for free-flowing materials, while powders prone to compaction, bridging or irregular flow may require agitators or additional flow-assist solutions. The objective is to maintain consistent screw filling and stable feeding performance throughout operation.

     • Material-specific hopper and feeding chamber geometry
     • Screw and spiral feeding options
     • Agitator solutions for poor-flowing materials
     • Variable-speed drive system
     • Different screw diameters, pitches and geometries
     • Configurations for different feeding capacities
