VOLDE Linear Multi-Feeder Batching Systems are engineered for high-throughput production processes requiring multiple ingredients to be accurately weighed and dosed within short batch cycles. Unlike central weigh hopper systems, each material hopper is independently mounted on load cells and equipped with its own dosing device. Ingredients can therefore be weighed simultaneously rather than sequentially, significantly reducing overall batch preparation time while maintaining accurate and repeatable dosing. Once the required quantities have been reached, the ingredients are discharged onto a common collecting conveyor and transferred to the mixer or downstream process.

| System Configuration & Operating Principle

Material hoppers are arranged in a linear configuration above a common collecting and conveying system. Each hopper forms an independent weighing unit, allowing the automation system to continuously monitor the quantity discharged from each ingredient during the batching sequence. Depending on the material characteristics and required dosing accuracy, each hopper can be equipped with a screw feeder, rotary valve, dosing gate or vibratory feeder.

    | Parallel Weighing for Shorter Batch Cycles

    The principal advantage of the Linear Multi-Feeder concept is the ability to weigh several ingredients simultaneously. Each weighing hopper operates independently according to the selected production recipe, allowing multiple dosing sequences to run in parallel. While coarse dosing provides the required throughput, the feed rate can be reduced as the target quantity is approached to achieve accurate final dosing. Individual tolerance monitoring ensures that each ingredient remains within its defined recipe limits before the batch is released for transfer.
