Extruder & Injection Molding Feeding

Centralized Material Handling for Plastics Processing

VOLDE Extruder & Injection Molding Feeding Systems are engineered to supply plastic raw materials from central storage and handling points directly to extrusion and injection molding machines. Resin pellets, powders, compounds, premixes and mineral-filled formulations are transferred through process-specific conveying systems and distributed to production lines according to machine demand. Each system is developed around the number of machines, material types, consumption rates, conveying distances and plant layout. From central silos and big bag stations to machine hoppers and intermediate bins, VOLDE provides an integrated material handling infrastructure that connects raw material storage with the production process

| Central Material Distribution & Machine Feeding

In plants operating multiple extruders or injection molding machines, raw material handling becomes a distribution process rather than a simple point-to-point transfer. Different materials may need to be routed from several storage locations to multiple production machines while maintaining clear material paths and automatic machine replenishment.

VOLDE central feeding systems combine storage, conveying, distribution and machine-level receiving equipment within a common architecture. Machine hoppers are automatically replenished according to level demand, while diverter valves and material routing equipment direct each raw material to the required production line.

 • Centralized feeding of extruders and injection molding machines
 • Multiple material source / multiple machine configurations
 • Automatic machine hopper replenishment
 • Intermediate bins and machine-mounted receivers
 • Automatic material and conveying-line selection
 • Diverter and distribution valve systems
 • Level-controlled material demand
 • Dedicated or common conveying routes
 • Expansion-ready layouts for additional production machines
 • PLC/SCADA integration and machine interlocks

This centralized approach reduces manual raw material movement across the production floor and provides a structured material supply system for plants operating multiple machines and formulations.

    | Conveying Technology for Pellets, Powders & Premixes

Plastic raw materials can behave very differently during conveying. Free-flowing resin pellets, PVC dry blend, powdered additives and mineral-filled compounds cannot always be handled efficiently with the same technology. Conveying method and equipment are therefore selected according to particle characteristics, bulk density, flowability, conveying capacity and distance.

Vacuum pneumatic conveying is widely used for resin pellets and granules, particularly in centralized systems supplying multiple injection molding machines or extruders. Materials can be drawn from silos, bins, bag or big bag stations and delivered directly to machine receivers through a common vacuum network.

Powders, premixes and mineral-filled materials may require different solutions. Depending on the application, pressure conveying, dense phase conveying or mechanical feeding can be used to achieve the required capacity and material handling characteristics.

     • Vacuum conveying for resin pellets and granules
     • Central vacuum systems for multiple machines
     • Vacuum receivers and machine hoppers
     • Pressure conveying for powders and bulk solids
     • DENSPLUS dense phase conveying for demanding powder applications
     • Screw conveyor feeding for short-distance transfer
     • PVC dry blend and compound transfer
     • Handling of calcite, ATH, MDH and other mineral fillers
     • Material-specific pipeline sizing and air management
     • Dust-tight transfer between storage and production equipment

      | Integrated Feeding for Continuous Production

The final feeding stage is coordinated with machine demand rather than operating as an independent conveying system. Level sensors in machine hoppers initiate replenishment cycles, while valves, vacuum sources and conveying routes are automatically sequenced according to material availability and line status.

For extrusion applications, feeding systems can also be integrated with gravimetric or volumetric feeders where ingredients must be continuously metered into the process. This allows central raw material handling and machine-level dosing to operate as one connected production system.

       • Demand-based automatic replenishment
       • Integration with extruder feed hoppers
       • Integration with gravimetric and volumetric feeders
       • Centralized control of conveying equipment
       • Low-level and high-level monitoring
       • Automatic material routing
       • Alarm and equipment status monitoring
       • Production line interlocks
       • PLC/SCADA integration
       • Raw material consumption and production data integration

VOLDE combines storage, conveying, distribution and machine feeding to create a complete raw material handling system around the actual requirements of the plastics production line.
