| Dense-Phase Conveying Tank   

DENSPLUS is the pressure conveying tank solution that feeds material into the line in dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems. The conveying tank, the most critical equipment determining dense-phase conveying performance, plays a fundamental role in taking the product into the line correctly, discharging it in a controlled manner under pressure, and forming the dense product columns that move along the line.

DENSPLUS tanks, developed by VOLDE, are designed for the reliable feeding of powder and granular bulk solid materials with differing flow behaviors into pneumatic lines. Tank volume, fill geometry, flow control components, and air management are determined through engineering calculations based on the physical properties of the product to be conveyed and the capacity requirements.

    | The Equipment at the Heart of Dense-Phase Conveying

    In dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems, the most critical factor determining line performance is the design and operating principle of the conveying tank. The DENSPLUS tank enables the product to be taken from beneath a silo or bin and fed into the line within a pressurized vessel.

    The operating cycle basically consists of the following steps:

     • Filling the tank with product
     • Raising the tank to pneumatic line pressure
     • Feeding the product into the conveying line with pressurized air
     • Emptying the tank and refilling it for the next cycle

    Thanks to this cycle, material moves through the line in dense product blocks, providing reliable transfer especially in long-distance pneumatic conveying applications.

    In the DENSPLUS design, tank geometry, inlet-outlet configuration, and air injection points are determined to ensure the product discharges from the tank without bridging and is fed smoothly into the line.
