Pneumatic Conveying for Cement & Mineral Powders

High Capacity. Low Velocity. Engineered for Abrasive Duty

Cement conveying combines high throughput, long pipeline routes and highly abrasive powder within the same process. Reliable performance therefore depends not only on capacity, but also on conveying velocity, pressure profile, air consumption, pipeline geometry and wear control. VOLDE develops DENSPLUS dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems for cement, fly ash and selected mineral powders. Each system is engineered according to material properties, required capacity, conveying distance, vertical lift and plant layout, with the complete line designed around the actual conveying duty.

| Low Velocity Dense Phase Cement Conveying

Dense-phase conveying is particularly well suited to cement applications where high capacities and long distances must be combined with reduced pipeline wear. By conveying a higher concentration of solids at lower material velocities, mechanical impact on bends, valves and pipeline transitions can be significantly reduced compared with high-velocity conveying systems.

VOLDE DENSPLUS systems are engineered as a complete conveying regime. Pressure-vessel volume, pipeline diameter, operating pressure and air flow are selected together according to the required throughput and actual line geometry.

Typical applications include

 • Silo-to-silo cement transfer
 • Cement feeding to weighing and batching systems
 • Dry-mix and construction-chemical production lines
 • Fly ash and mineral powder transfer
 • Long-distance conveying with vertical lift
 • Distribution to multiple receiving silos or process points

Depending on the material and plant layout, VOLDE systems can be engineered for high-capacity applications in the approximately 20–100 t/h range and conveying routes extending to several hundred metres. Final performance is determined according to the actual conveying duty.

    | AIRPLUS Air Control for Long Pipelines

Stable dense-phase conveying depends not only on pressure at the sending vessel, but also on how conveying air is managed throughout the pipeline.

Long horizontal sections, vertical rises, multiple bends and changing line conditions can influence plug or moving-bed behaviour. AIRPLUS air-assist modules introduce controlled supplementary air at selected points along the pipeline, supporting material movement where the pressure profile and conveying conditions require it.

    This approach can support

     • Stable dense-phase flow
     • Controlled plug / slug movement
     • Pressure management along long conveying lines
     • Reduced risk of excessive material compaction
     • More stable operation through vertical sections and bends
     • Air use matched to actual line conditions

Pipeline diameter, bend geometry, valve selection and wear protection are engineered together with the conveying parameters to provide reliable operation in abrasive cement applications.

"Lower Velocity. Controlled Air. Longer Service Life"

High-performance cement conveying is not measured by throughput alone. Material velocity, compressed-air demand, wear at critical pipeline components and maintenance frequency all influence the real operating cost of the system.

      | Complete Cement Conveying System Engineering

A reliable cement conveying system extends beyond the pressure vessel itself. Silo discharge, pipeline routing, destination filtration, pressure protection and receiving-point integration must all operate as part of the same process.

VOLDE engineers the complete material path from the source silo to the final destination. Multiple receiving points can be supplied through automatic line-selection valves, while silo level signals can generate conveying demand according to actual production requirements.

      A complete system can include

       • DENSPLUS pressure vessels
       • Silo discharge and flow-assistance equipment
       • AIRPLUS air-assist modules
       • Conveying pipelines and wear-resistant bends
       • Automatic line-selection valves
       • Receiving-silo vent filters
       • Level and pressure instrumentation
       • PLC-controlled conveying cycles
       • Mechanical and pneumatic installation
       • Commissioning and parameter optimization

Each project is developed around the cement characteristics, target capacity, conveying distance, elevation profile and actual plant layout.

VOLDE combines dense-phase conveying, controlled air management and complete system engineering into a cement-transfer solution developed for high-capacity, abrasive and long-distance applications.
