Multi Ingredient Batching with Mobile Weighing Hopper

VOLDE Mobile Weighing Hopper Batching Systems are engineered for production processes involving multiple ingredients, complex recipes and flexible plant layouts. A single high-accuracy weigh hopper travels between stationary material feeding points and collects each ingredient sequentially according to the selected production recipe. By using one common weighing system for multiple ingredients, this concept reduces the number of weighing assemblies required while providing accurate, consistent and repeatable batch preparation. Once all recipe components have been weighed, the completed batch is transferred to the mixer or downstream process.

| System Configuration & Operating Principle

Material hoppers and dosing units remain stationary while the mobile weigh hopper travels along a guided rail system and positions itself beneath each selected feeding point. Once positioned, the corresponding dosing equipment is activated and the required ingredient is discharged into the weigh hopper. Each ingredient is dosed using controlled coarse and fine feeding. As the target weight is approached, the feed rate is reduced for accurate final dosing. Once the defined tolerance is achieved, the system automatically moves to the next ingredient station.

| Flexible Weighing & Batch Transfer Configurations

The mobile weighing unit can be configured according to material characteristics, batch size, plant layout and the required method of downstream transfer.

• Mobile Weigh Hopper — Standard configuration for collecting and weighing powders, granules and other bulk materials
• Mobile Weighing Bucket — Combines weighing and physical batch transport for direct transfer to the mixer or discharge point
• Big Bag Weighing Frame — Enables ingredients to be collected and weighed directly into a big bag for large-volume formulations

Once weighing is complete, the prepared batch can be discharged directly into the mixer, transferred to an intermediate hopper or conveyed to the downstream process by mechanical or pneumatic conveying systems.
