Precise Mass-Based Liquid Dosing for Continuous Production
VOLDE Continuous Liquid Dosing Systems are engineered for processes requiring uninterrupted and accurately controlled feeding of liquid ingredients. Each liquid is gravimetrically dosed on a mass-flow basis using the loss-in-weight principle, providing stable and repeatable feeding throughout continuous production. The liquid supply vessel is continuously weighed on load cells, while the actual mass flow rate is calculated from the reduction in vessel weight over time. The control system automatically adjusts pump output to maintain the required feed rate and recipe ratio. Compared with purely volumetric dosing, gravimetric control provides direct mass-based measurement and reduces the influence of variations in liquid density on dosing performance.
| System Configuration & Gravimetric Control
Each liquid ingredient is supplied from an independently weighed vessel and continuously metered into the process through a controlled dosing pump. Depending on the liquid properties and process requirements, gear, lobe or diaphragm pumps can be selected to provide stable and accurate feeding across the required operating range. The control system continuously compares the actual mass flow rate with the target setpoint and automatically adjusts pump output. In multi-component processes, all liquid dosing units operate in synchronization with the master production rate, maintaining the defined recipe ratios even when production capacity changes. Automatic refill from main storage tanks can be integrated into the system, allowing continuous operation with minimal interruption to gravimetric control. Pump selection, vessel design, instrumentation and control strategy are engineered according to flow rate, viscosity, temperature and process conditions.
